When did the korean and vietnam wars start and end?

I need to know when the vietnam and north korean wars started and ended. Although an exact date would be nice all I need is the start and end year. And only make an answer if you know for sure!

Answer
The Korean War started on June 25th, 1950. A ceasefire was signed on July 27th, 1953. However, technically, the war isn’t over, as a peace treaty was never signed.

The dates surrounding the Vietnam War and the role of the US is more murky. The war started off as an insurgency is South Vietnam. This began in 1956. The United States support for the South Vietnamese government increased when JFK sent military advisors to Vietnam. American involvement escalted into full combat in 1965. American involvement in the war officially ended in January 27, 1973 with the Paris Peace Accords. The war itself ended on April 30, 1975.

Rental Car Philippines For Your Travel Adventure —How To Have A Pleasant Trip

Rental Car Philippines for your Travel Adventure —How to have a pleasant trip

In order to have a memorable journey in any exciting landscape of Asia’s pearl of the Orient, it would be best to rely on a Rental Car Philippines to answer all your transportation needs if you don’t have your own vehicle. However, bear in mind that even with the best rent a car out there, there are always some downsides involved, after all, nothing beats having your own car. Nevertheless, you simply cannot let anything get in the way of your travels. Understand the pros and cons, and you’ll likely get the best out of your trip and your car hire.

1.philippines car rental offers variety in choices but check your budget.

The great thing about rental car is that you are free to choose your own car, from a classic one to the modern vintage, but the downside—the better and bigger the car, the greater the cost.

Renting is merely borrowing and the cost depends on the length of usage here in the Philippines, higher if you need a driver. Understand that a worry-free transportation does not come for free so prepare your pocket.

2.Car hire Philippines offers freedom but practice responsibility

Unlike public transportation, rental car Philippines offers flexibility and freedom. This is not your own car and when it breaks down you can easily get it replaced from your chosen rental Car Philippines.

On the dark side, you can’t do anything harmful with the car so you have to practice caution and be careful as any personal damage may be charged against you.

3.Car Rental in the Philippines is a better transportation alternative but not the best

Finding a Philippines car rental is a breeze. The most top searches in the Internet for example are Avis Rent a Car and JB rent a car and these two are actually also one of the most flexible and dependable car hire Philippines out there. No need to look elsewhere.

With these top car rentals, you can make reservations online and with fewer efforts, but as easy as everything may sound, the best option is always having your own car. No reservations, no time constraints and no extra precautions to take.

4.Rental Car Philippines is here to stay

Renting a car in the Philippines is a business that is booming in the country, supported by advantages, regardless of disadvantages. Despite all controversies surrounding the car rental issue, it is not a painful choice if you are really serious about taking time to explore the vast richness of the Philippines. Rent a car or not, any glorious travel may indeed cost you but the joy it brings in the long run can be memorable—and that is one eternal treasure which is just priceless.

Answer
I’ve got many friends from UK who loves the Island they called their second home – Penang (Malaysia). It may not be as posh as Singapore, or advanced like Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) or Super-standard like Japan, yet Penang is the choice of many a Global travellers as it has a balance of many things, such as a unique heritage, nature, beaches, food (yes, best area to get the most delicious yet cheap cuisine in Malaysia!), shopping (may not be as many Kuala Lumpur, but hey, many loved shopping here in Penang, as bargains are possible in local retails and markets) and it multiculturalism (Penang Hokkien, a Chinese dialect now made fame for hereditary). Also, you have a choice of accommodations from YMCA/YWCA to motels, from hotels to resorts. Trishaws are famous here, same for the unique Peranakan (Baba-Nyonya or Straits Chinese) culture as well as the famous ferry, transporting people and vehicles between Weld Quay (Island Jetty) and Butterworth (Mainland).

Adventure Travel Call Of The Wild

Forget the tan, the Mickey Mouse photos and the cliché souvenirs, these days travellers want to experience something more than two weeks on the Costa del Sol, they want to go on a walking tour through Kilimanjaro, hike the Inca Trail, go diving in Vietnam or get up close and personal with the Gorillas in East Africa!

According to the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), adventure travel is the fastest-growing segment of the travel industry, and the number of individuals and families booking adventure trips is increasing year on year.  “In travel, people are increasingly seeking the authentic unique experiences that stretch the imagination and create potent memories that last a lifetime,” says Chris Doyle, vice president of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA). Would you believe families (including multigenerational groups with grandparents and extended relatives) now make up about 25 to 30 percent of the adventure travel market!

Adventure travel is defined as “to intentionally go beyond one’s normal known area, seeking out experiences that are unfamiliar”.

The concept is specialising in unique, small group outdoor adventure travel. Adventure Tours companies strive to show the real world by taking travellers off the beaten track to the heart of the destination, and to meet the locals who call it home. Throughout the trip participants will be travelling overland in local transport with a crew of local guides commanding a wealth of knowledge and experience. They share their local and insider knowledge with all their travellers. All accommodation is carefully chosen from remote lodges to rainforests or a scenic campsite by the edge of a lake to a family run, colonial gem in the mountains.

A common misconception is that “you have to be fit” in order to embark on a tour. This is not the case at all with many of the trips graded as Easy, Moderate and Strenuous so there is something to suit all levels of fitness.

The costs for these tours represent exceptional value for money – all transport and accommodation is included, as is the expertise of the group leader. Some meals are also provided and travellers are taken to all the “must see” sights when on tour.

If you have a lust for life and a curiosity for culture, then I recommend you immerse yourself in the addictive world of adventure travel! Such is the popularity for these tours that small group adventures, safaris and expeditions exist now on all seven continents. Whether you choose a unique safari in Africa, a “once in a lifetime journey” to Antarctica, a visit to a wondrous sight like Petra or the Great Wall or a pioneering journey to such legendary destinations as Manchuria or Irian Jaya you will embark on a journey that will live with you forever.

Adventure Travel is a great way to get out there and visit place you otherwise would not. You meet such great people and have so much fun on these tours. Book your Cheap Flights and Adventure Travel to anywhere in the world all online at www.Travel247.ie

Recommendation for a destination while journeying through South Vietnam?

I’ll be in Vietnam in a couple days and stay for a little more than a month. My wife and I will have our honeymoon while I’m there. The honeymoon will be traveling around South Vietnam for a few weeks eventually ending up in Quang Tri to review a project that I’m involved with and then take a flight to Hanoi. We plan to see at least the following places:

·Vung Tau
·Da Lat
·Nha Trang
·Hoi An
·Da Nang
·Hue

I was wondering if anyone knows an interesting place or places that my wife and I should include in this journey. Keep in mind that my wife is native Vietnamese and I’ve seen enough small villages, pagodas, rivers and rice paddies in Vietnam to fulfill my lifetime quote. I don’t want the typical tour guide answer, but something different and interesting. So put your thinking caps on and help my wife and I add more flavor to our journey through South Vietnam.

Answer
well, i was in vietnam 2 summers ago and theres a natural waterfall in south vienam called thac yangbay and theres this stream called suoi nguon thats also in nha trang-ish (at both of them if you are lucky you could see real jungle people lurking around). and when you’re in hue you should totally go to the imperial tombs theyre amazing. And when you are in da nang there is a huge mountain made out of marble called ngu han son (but theres a sign that says: marble mountains) that you have to walk like a million steps to get to and when you get up top you could see a beautiful view of the ocean.

I hope you guys have funn!!! =D

Adventure travel india

India is a civilization so ancient and rich that it has attracted travellers, traders and conquerors from time immemorial. India which introduced the occident to silk and spices, presented them with the’zero’ and vedic mathematics, has one of the most ancient texts-the Vedas, given the world one of the largest and perhaps the most peace loving religions – Buddhism, practices Hinduism in majority, is home to millions of Muslims and Christians, is the land of turbaned Sikhs and has offered refuge to Jews, Parsis and many others through the centuries. Politically the region of strategic importance as it lies at the fringe of oil rich nations and the new economic dragons of south east asia.

Geographically, India expanses from sea level to beyond 8000metres.The whole area from the Himalayas upto the Vindhyas is loosely termed as North India. With the snow capped mountains in the north, the fertile Gangetic plains nurtured by the mighty river Ganga, the ravines of river Chambal ,the marble banks of river Narmada, the Thar desert to the west with its unique architecture in sandstone, The breathtaking beauty of the north east with is tribes of indigenous people is spellbinding. Northern India is really mosaic of culture and people. Home to the famous Taj Mahal, a monument in marble symbolizing eternal love, North India has many heritage sites, including the Stupas of Buddhist era, temples cut out of sheer rock faces with meditation chambers(Ajanta & Ellora), the Sun temple designed like a chariot(Konark), Hawa mahal of Jaipur – a multistoreyed palace with filigreed façade from where the womenfolk of the royal family could watch stately processions.

Vietnam Adventure Tours

Vietnam is the easternmost country located on the Indochina Peninsula in the Southeast Asian region and has a rich legacy of historical locations, spectacular beaches, natural and lush countryside, and the lively and ever bustling cities. Vietnam has a lot to offer for all types of travelers and tourists, be it adventurous or otherwise.

One of the important and historical places to visit in Vietnam is the Cu Chi tunnels located at the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. Cu Chi tunnels are a complex network of underground tunnels that were strategically used by the Vietnam armed forces during war times, especially during Tet Offensive. A video presentation before the actual tunnel tour emphasizes the strategic mastery of the tunnels. The actual crawling tour of the tunnels, though seems easy at start, becomes difficult due to inadequate natural light and the unknowing ascents and descents of the tunnel. But at the end of this walk through the underground ravines, you will know more about the conflict that took place in Vietnam and respect it.

Another adventurous spot is Vietnam’s highest peak, Mount Fansipan, which is located in a town called Sapa in Northwest Vietnam. You can travel by train from Hanoi to Lao Cai and either take a train to uphill Sapa or go biking. On your way to Sapa, you will encounter several tiny villages having great cultural importance and people belonging to traditionally rich tribes. All the way, you are in the midst of picturesque locations, splendid natural vegetation, paddy fields, mountain terrains and scenic water falls which make your biking ride pleasant and challenging. This entire journey lasts for around eight days but leaves you with ever lasting memories.

If you are interested in marine adventures, then Phu Quoc Island is the best place to be. Its warm turquoise waters make it a pleasant viewing experience but the fantastic scuba diving and snorkeling experience is beyond imagination. You can also avail of beach massaging and other such services if you wish to. Such diverse destinations make Vietnam one of the best places to be.

How to promote the positive images of vietnam?

Have anyone here ever been to Vietnam? If yes, can u please suggest ways to promote the positive images of vietnam in tourism industry ?What can we do to attract more tourists?

Answer
I went back for several weeks in the fall of 1995 and even then, Vietnam had already improved so much over what it was in the 1960’s. It was wonderful to visit both the North and the South and saw the country, so beautiful and modernizing and the people, so friendly and forgiving, finally had the peace that they so richly deserve.

When I was in Hanoi, I ran into a group of active US servicemen who were members of an MIA recovery team who happened to be staying at the same hotel I was staying at. They told me they encountered no hostilities from anyone in Vietnam and met nothing but friendliness and cooperation from the government to the people.

U.S. veterans I met on the streets and in museums and restaurants told me the same thing. What’s more, they told me their visits to Vietnam had helped so much in their healing process. They thought they could replace the horrible images of war with those happy ones they saw on their latest visits whenever they thought of Vietnam.

Vietnam needs to hire good American public relations/advertising firms to change the perception of the country still in the minds of many Americans, especially those over the age of 50 who still remember the images of Vietnam at war. When the Japanese began to sell cars en mass in America in the late 1970’s, they had to do the same thing as most Americans at that time thought of Japanese products as cheap but low in quality. It takes a lot of education to undo a prejudice.

Giving free tours of Vietnam to American travel agents, travel writers and tour operators is another way. They only need to report the truth of what they see there and tourism to Vietnam will substancially increase.

Already, there are over 300,000 American citizens visiting Vietnam each year, 100,000 (mostly Americans of Vietnamese descent) over the Tet holidays alone. But the number could be many times that when Vietnam is able to attract Americans of all backgrounds.

Who wouldn’t enjoy a beautiful country with lots of historical and natural sites, friendly and courteous people, safe and secure society, first class lodging facilities, delicious and exciting foods and what’s more, very reasonable prices…that is indeed Vietnam. I’m ready to go back later this year with my family!

Vietnam muon nam! (Long live Vietnam!)
