New Travel Destination Nubra Valley in North India

Nubra Valley is about 150 km north of Leh, the capital town of Ladakh, India. Its original name was Ldumra (the valley of flowers). The Nubra valley geographically separates the Ladakh and the Karakoram Ranges. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. above the sea level. The common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La pass if approached from Leh. Traveling to Nubra valley require an Inner Line Permit which can be easily obtained in Leh town.

Diskit, which is the headquarters of Nubra sub-division and a small town, has all basic facilities including a number of good hotels. How much money would 2 people need to travel within Asia for 1 month and a half?

To include travel within countries / food / hostels or hotels

Answer
The average daily cost for budget travel ( 2 persons ) are as follows :

USD10 – 3 meals a day ( street food or ordinary restaurants )’

USD15-USD20 – accomodation ( hostels or budget hotels ), if you want a star rated hotel ( 3 star ), just top up another USD20-USD30.

USD15 – transportation ( public transportation for local travels, taxis excluded )

For international travel – depends on your destinations. In South East Asia, you can travel from Singapore all the way to Vietnam and even to China ON LAND, if you choose this option and take public buses / trains, you would be able to save quite a big sum from your budge

Of course, in big cities, everything is more expensive and in smaller towns, things are very cheap ( by western standard ) and certain countries are cheaper to travel than the others example Japan , things there are expensive even by western standard while in developing countries like Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar , you probably don’t even have to spend the amount that i stated above.

How long is the travel time from De La Salle Manila to SM Mall of Asia?

How long is the travel time from De La Salle Manila to SM Mall of Asia?

Please state the travel time WITH traffic and WITHOUT traffic. Thanks

Answer
With light traffic, you can get to SM MOA in under 15 minutes. If there is moderate traffic, between 20-30 mins, 30 min- 1 hr, if the traffic is really heavy. SM MOA is just two rides away from DLSU – one jeep ride to from DLSU to Buendia (under 5 mins, usually), and another from Buendia to MOA so it won’t really take long.

Edit:

Oh, this is assuming that the jeepney from Buendia to MOA leaves immediately. The drivers fill their jeepneys first before leaving, so take that into account.

How Do You Choose Your Favorite Travel Destination

What is your favorite holiday destination and how do you decide it is your favorite? Is it because you long to visit there to see the culture that lies within? Is your favorite destination related to the kind of people you can meet there? Is your choice related to the weather conditions that may be on offer? Is your choice related to the type of history or architecture on offer? Is your favorite destination a place you already went and experienced great feelings or a special event took place? Is it related to the atmosphere that you can find in that destination? Whatever your reason is for your favorite holiday destination it will not be the same for everyone else.

My favorite destination does not even appear in the list below and I guess that may have something to do with the relative closeness to my home country however it should not be a country dismissed off the bat. There are so many nearby countries as well all with unique experiences to offer and if you have perhaps been considering your choice for the next trip you make then you may want to look into what I consider a wonderful holiday destination.

I am referring to Thailand and all that is on offer, as well as the surrounding Asian countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia or Singapore. There are amazing experiences to be had in these Asian areas with a tremendous range of adventure or relaxation options to be experienced and for me a great area to enjoy a well deserved break from day to day work and escape to virtual paradise. But that is just my opinion.

It is said the top 5 favorite holiday destinations over the previous few years are these countries, France, Spain, United States of America, Italy and China. So was France your first choice? Perhaps this current list relates more to those that have closer access to holiday spots without further investigation as to where these holiday makers originated from it is impossible to know the reasons that France was considered number one.

France of course does have wonderful sites and culture and so many historical places that are world famous. If you only went to France for the Eiffel Tower that would be an experience in itself. With Spain as number two this can no doubt have some impact relating to the weather conditions during the summer periods and the amazing beaches on offer not to mention the marvelous cities of Barcelona and Madrid.

The United States of America also has a high ranking in this list however it is likely that many of these visitors are in fact American themselves. The popular areas being California and Florida which are known well for their incredible beach resort options as well as New York the Big Apple being high on the list.

Then of course we have the wonderful Italian option with Italy being a favorite of many and with cities such as Florence, Venice, Rome and Milan what is not to enjoy.

There are of course hundreds of wonderful travel destinations worldwide and Asia is often a popular destination as well. Overall there were previously more holiday makers as the years go on so it will be interesting to see if there is a change to this situation with the state of the economy today. Perhaps more people will take the time to visit in their own countries and the nearby places they have yet to see. Or for those that have close access to nearby countries perhaps they will remain closer to home with their holiday plans.

It is of course impossible to say and only time will tell with the next poll taken on what are considered the most popular destinations for our population to take their well deserved holidays. What ever travel destination is your next choice make sure you get the experience you want from your holiday and perhaps it will move to number 1 on your list.

What is the Cheapest way to travel to Asia?

So ideally this is what I want my trip to be like: Depart from RDU (US) fly to TPE (Taiwan) stay for some months and then to PKE (China) and then back to the US or to Taiwan and then to US. Is there a cheaper way of doing this kind of trip? Or do I have to purchase one 2 seperate tickets?

Answer
Yes, just buy your ticket from US to one destination in Asia. Then, when you get there, buy your ticket to the next destination. Traveling between Asian cities are cheaper if you buy your tickets locally. However, there might be a problem with getting an entry visa to China. It’s easier if you get your visa from your home country, but you will also need a confirmed ticket or at least a confirmed place to stay in China.

Travel Insurance Destination Report South East Asia

Travel Insurance Destination Report: South East Asia February 12th, 2010 |

South East Asia is an enormously popular tourist destination. The combination of relatively weak local economies compared to the West, a beautiful climate, delicious food and picturesque settings mean that almost every Western overseas traveller makes it to South East Asia at least once. However it is also a relatively wild place in terms of health and also safety. Today we look through the risks inherent in travel to popular South East Asian countries, and how they should impact on your choices about travel insurance.

Bali

Health

As a developing country, Bali has several disease uncommon in the West as endemic there. Hepatitis A and B, typhoid, tetanus and cholera are actually quite common. All of these can be vaccinated against. Malaria and dengue fever, however, which are also common, have no vaccination. You should avoid insects using repellent and timing your outside time to the least insect-prone parts of the day.

Japanese encephalitis, a rare but dangerous disease, also exists in Indonesia. There is a separate expensive, but definitely necessary vaccination for this. The highest level of medical travel insurance is recommended.

Safety

The Australian government is currently advising citizens to reconsider their need to travel to Bali, because of the very high threat of a terrorist attack.

Fiji

Health

Hepatitis, typhoid, measles mumps and rubella, tetanus all exist in Fiji. Dengue fever and traveller’s diarrhea are also common, but insect avoidance, sensible eating and drinking, and travel vaccinations will help you stay healthy in Fiji. Fiji is actually quite safe, health-wise.

Safety

There are presently unresolved political tensions across Fiji, but mainly in Suva. If you are travelling to Suva, the government’s safety warning level is at the third highest of five levels. For Fiji overall, it is set at 2 out of five, or simply, ‘Exercise Caution’.

Thailand

Health

In addition to the ordinary South East Asian diseases mentioned above, Thailand also has regular cases of Japanese encephalitis, rabies and malaria. There are often animals in the streets, either for sale or wandering about in Thailand – avoid them to stay healthy and avoid making a medical travel insurance claim!

Safety

Most travelers from Australia to Thailand go to Bangkok or Phuket, where the alert level from the government is set at 3 out of 5 – ‘High Degree of Caution’. However for certain provinces – Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and Songkhla – the highest alert level has been enacted. The government is asking people not to travel to these areas at all, because of terrorist attacks and bombings on almost a daily basis. Some things just can’t cover … we recommend following the government’s advice here.

Vietnam

Health

Vietnam is quite close to Thailand, and faces the same health issues as the peninsular country. Get all your vaccinations before you go and practice safe eating and drinking to avoid making medical travel insurance claims.

Safety

The political and social situation in the country is currently quite stable, and the government is simply advising you to exercise caution to avoid becoming the victim of criminal activity. However, the high risk of developing health issues means you should consider getting travel insurance that will cover all financial aspects of illness.
