Uncover Halong With Halong Bay Cruise trip

Ha Lengthy Bay in northeastern Vietnam is a complex of offshore islands becoming 1 of the most common examples of marine-invaded tower karsts. The Bay consists of more than 1.600 islands and islets hiding within several spectacular caves and grottoes with stalactites and stalagmites. The bay’s sublime & magnificent beauty sets it apart from other web sites and is drawing millions of cruisers each and every year.

It is stated that the best way to uncover and appreciate the globe normal wonder is to jump onto a classic rubbish sailing to the far-most corners in which there are hidden lagoons, unexploited beaches with pure emerald water and exotic grottos that can be observed nowhere else in the globe.

What is the best way to ship furniture from Vietnam to the US, and how does one arrange to use this method?

I am planning on buying a significant number of pieces of furniture when visiting Vietnam in a few months, and wanted to better understand my shipping options in advance.

Answer
You want to contact a freight forwarding service or a shipping broker. The vendor that you buy the furniture from should be able to help you out with this. If they don’t, go to the nearest DHL office and ask them for a contact or call my brother-in-law:

Vu Trieu Dong
Asia Cargo Logistics Co., LTD
e-mail: duong.vutrieu@acl-vn.com
phone: 84-4 285-1854

Tell him that his fat American brother-in-law sent you. Good luck!

How did the Vietnam War fit in relationship to the time leading up to it?

How did the Vietnam War fit in relationship to the time leading up to it?

Answer
im not quite sure what your trying to ask but i interputed your question as asking why did it happen? well then it would be the us goal of ‘containing’ the spread of communisum, much like the korean, the northern half of vietnam wanted to unite with american set up south, and knew war was the only way to do it, the US not wanting communism to get into vietnam complettly sent their soldiers over to ‘help’ the much much less well equpt south compared to the well soviet equipped north, this was a proxy war-a war were then soviets and US fought each, other, by not actully fighting each other.

The islets of Halong Bay Vietnam

I’m pretty sure that most people will agree with me that whenever we hear Halong Bay, the first thing that comes to our minds is the image of  those two big rocks that look like they grew up from the bottom of the sea. During that sunset cruise in Halong Bay, I learned that almost all of the islands and islets in Halong bay actually have their respective names.

The most popular one is called Ga Choi islet or Fighting Cocks. This is the logo of the Halong Bay. Almost everyone gathered on one side of the boat after our captain told us that we were approaching the famous fighting cocks.

Fighting Cocks

Everybody wanted to have their photos taken with the fighting cocks on the background. Well, I also got mine but it didn’t look great so I’d rather not post it.

I wasnt able to remember the names of the other islets; well, they were all in Vietnamese language so that explains it.  The islet in the photo below is called the Dinh Huong or Incense Burner.

Dinh Huong

What’s the point of driving to Halong City from Hanoi for more than 2 hours and paying quite a steep amount without seeing this spectacular view?  Well, we almost didn’t get to see the Halong Bay… that swindler sinjao :) Yeah that’s the name we gave  our tour guide after that incident. More  of the  Halong Bay story next time….

How was music used during the Vietnam War?

I’m doing a Senior Seminar paper on Vietnam and the music of time. My prof said I should focus on how the younger college age generation used the music to express themselves and just how they used the music in general. Anyone know any good books or sources for this?

Answer
You might consider using lyrics of the time as opposed to books and websites.

You can watch the ‘general’ cold war evolve into Vietnam in the lyrics by Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, [some] Kingston trio, Dave Van Ronk and others of the cusp time when Vietnam was just tuning up. As the worm turned you see CW splitting as a direct result of the war, Folk fading to be replaced by predominantly anti-war lyrics, political lyrics, or ‘civil rights issue’ lyrics.

Merle Haggard, “Okie From Muskogee” and “You’re Walking on the Fighting Side of Me” emerged as a battle flag for the pro-Vietnam War factions, along with a song by an ex-Special Forces guy [name escapes me] “Silver Wings upon His Chest” about the Special Forces.

These songs were countered on the other side by “**shole From El Paso” by Kinky Friedman, “Your Flag Decal won’t Get You Into Heaven Anymore” by John Prine, songs by Steve Goodman, Kris Kristofferson, many others were openly anti-Vietnam War and made it into poplularity

The troops had their own obliquely anti-war preferences in music. We Gotta Get Out of this Place is an example. The song from the broadway musical hair, “Happy Birthday Abey Baby” became fairly popular and reflects the racial side of things. The haunting sound of “We Will All Go Down Together” by Billy Joel, sounds of helicopters in the background maybe covers the whole waterfront.

Jesse Winchester left to avoid the draft during the “Love it or Leave It” stage of things. Later he released a great album, “Learn to Love It” that’s worth a listen.

Halong Bay and red dragon cruise city attractions and travel tips guide vietnam Unesco site list

Ha Long Bay has an area of around 1,553km2, including 1,960 islets, most of which are limestone. The core of the bay has an area of 334km2 with a high density of 775 islets. The limestone in this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments. The evolution of the karst in this bay has taken 20 million years under the impact of the tropical wet climate. The geo-diversity of the environment in the area has created biodiversity, including a tropical evergreen biosystem, oceanic and sea shore biosystem. Ha Long Bay is home to 14 endemic floral species and 60 endemic faunal species.

Historical research surveys have shown the presence of prehistorical human beings in this area tens of thousands years ago. The successive ancient cultures are the Soi Nh? culture around 18,000-7,000 BC, the Cái Bèo culture 7,000-5,000 BC and the H? Long culture 3,500-5,000 years ago. Ha Long Bay also marked important events in the history of Vietnam with many artifacts found in Bài Th? Mout, ??u G? Cave, Bãi Cháy.

500 years ago, Nguyen Trai praised the beauty of Ha Long Bay in his verse L? nh?p Vân ??n, in which he called it “rock wonder in the sky”. In 1962, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam listed Ha Long Bay in the National Relics and Landscapes publication. In 1994, the core zone of Ha Long Bay was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site according to criteria vii, and listed for a second time according to criteria viii.

History of halong bay

Soi Nh? culture (16000- 5000 BC)

Located in H? Long and Bái T? Long are archaeological sites such as Mê Cung and Thiên Long. There are remains from mounds of mountain shellfish (Cyclophorus), spring shellfish (Melania), some fresh water mollusk and some rudimentary labour tools. The main way of life of Soi Nh?’s habitants included catching fish and shellfish, collecting fruits and digging for bulbs and roots. Their living environment was a coastal area unlike other Vietnamese cultures, for example, like those found in Hoà Bình and B?c S?n.

Cái Bèo culture (5000- 3000BC)

Located in H? Long and Cát Bà island, its habitants developed to the level of sea exploitation.

What gear did the American army ranger have in the Vietnam War?

I will take anything. Names of firearms, knives, armor, pouches, canteens, etc… I recieved what my father had left from Vietnam and i am trying to complete the package. I’ve looked through his books and it is very difficult to find explicit information. The internet does not provide much information either.

How much do people in Vietnam like Americans? Would it be easy to find a girlfriend?

I’m thinking about going to Vietnam for vacation and was just wondering what the chances of a good-looking 5th generation european/american, typical california dude, has of meeting girls in Vietnam?

Where should I go?

Would learning some Vietnamese score me more points?

I’m thinking about Thailand even though I’m not down with the prostitution scene. Can you find local girls who aren’t in the industry? I’m not that desperate lol and never will be.

Please serious answers only.

Answer
very much. very easy [ the girls ARE NOT EASY but are easy to meet]. if your looking for “working girls” go to bars.. if you want to meet ordinary woman go to the market..
learning vietnamese is huge!
