5 Places To Visit In Cambodia

Like any other destination in Southeast Asia, Cambodia offers the tourist so many attractions it is difficult to narrow the list down. In this article, we will give you some special insights into Cambodia life that you might like to include on your itinerary. But before you go, have you compared travel insurance quotes yet? It is always imperative that you arrange travel insurance before you travel anywhere in Southeast Asia so you can travel with peace of mind knowing that any contingency will be catered for.

There are five destinations you should at least consider before you finalise your travel plans:

Phnom Penh. The capital of Cambodia has many interesting temples and markets that you can visit day and night. But perhaps one of the more famous destinations with tourists is the Russian Market. Also known as Psar Tuol Tompoung, this is a bargain hunters dream come true. You can find just about anything from food to souvenirs and clothing, and the prices are almost unbelievable. As long as you maintain a positive outlook and are friendly and smiling in your bargaining, you can expect to pay no more than half price and usually substantially less than that.
Siem Reap. One of the most spectacular ways to see this famous city is by hot air balloon. From this vantage point you can really appreciate the expanse of Angkor Wat. It is difficult to obtain a proper perspective when you are walking through this ancient temple, so you will really come to appreciate the magnificence of this structure from high in the air.
Choeung Ek. Although you may consider this a grisly recommendation, the atrocities of the recent wars in Cambodia provide a timely reminder of the value of peace. This area is better known as the Killing Fields made famous in film and print after the Khmer Rouge regime was toppled. Of the 17,000 people who were killed here, 8000 skulls remain as a haunting tribute.
Kangpong Som. Located close to the Ream National Park, this delightful beach is the access point to some amazing scuba-diving. Divers from around the world marvel at the beauty of the coral and variety of fish all easily accessible by just walking off the beach. There is plenty of nightlife nearby as well so an overnight stay is in order.
Angkor Wat. No visit to Cambodia would be complete without visiting Angkor Wat, the largest religious structure in the world. It was constructed in the 12th century and it is an elaborate collection of buildings and monuments that seem to stretch out forever.

Cambodia is still developing as a tourist destination with its facilities improving every year. But you will still need to take out adequate holiday insurance so you can have a hassle free trip without the burden of worrying about adequate health cover for example.

Cambodia is ideally suited to the independent traveller as well as those who like the ease of travel that a group tour offers.

How did the vietnam war affect us?

I’m doing a report on the affects of the vietnam war for social studies. I need help. Any suggestions?

Answer
Decreased confidence in the presidency. People were fighting an undeclared war. The term “police action” was coined to cover this.

Increased visibility for young activists.

The Summer of Love. There’s always been a cultural divide between parents and children — the “generation gap.” It widened. The younger generation this time didn’t see the point of the war in Vietnam. The older generation was spouting “we served in WWII and Korea, and now it’s your turn to do your duty to your country.” The younger generation embraced alternative lifestyles, music, drugs.

Eventually, 18-year-olds got to vote.

Travelling Alone in Different Places

I have been to many places. We’ll I guess I’ve met different faces, different cultures, different environments, different persona or dispositions. You must travel and explore the world before you die.

Must see places before you die are; Paris, France a place for lovers, city of light and where you can see the famous Eiffel Tower. The Machu Picchu in Peru where it is known to be a historical place. The Tubbataha Reefs in the Philippines a nature park that has an underwater sanctuary for many species. The Jeju (Cheju) Island in South Korea famous because it is also known as “Island of the Gods”, a very relaxing place for lonely hearts and wandering minds. The New York, United States time square and statue of liberty.  The Egypt’s pyramid the tomb for pharaohs.

These are just some of the places I’ve always want to go, soon. Before living for a journey. You must first secure your money, you need it so much second to your life. Also, you need to list all the things you want to bring for the trip. Remember to travel light. Travelling alone is not easy; you have to carry all your baggage, so you must only bring the most needed and very important things. Also secure a passport and a visa, so you can cross borders if you want. No hassle and worries while travelling. You must also bring a camera to capture all those sweet memories in your trip. Bring flip flops or shoes for your convenient. Never forget to wear a smile every time and everyday. When you meet different people smile, be friendly. People love a person who is friendly and approachable. When you are in a place, learn something new like you want to learn some of their basic language like I love you, Hello, Good morning, Good night, Thank you, and your welcome. Take it down to your notes and put the name of the person who teaches you and let them sign it and also you must have a picture with that person. In that way, you can always remember the people and the place and whatever they teach you. And of course, make your self safe. You will never know what you will encounter in your trip. Pray and ask guidance so that you can return to your home safe.

Let me share this to you, while I was travelling in Asia particularly Philippines. I made all those things. And somehow when I look into the pictures of the people it makes my eyes teary. They are such a very accommodating people and they smiles a lot even some of the children have incomplete teeth.  I learn to love their place. I Also know what is “I Love You” in there language, it is “Mahal Kita”.

Singapore Travels and Beautiful Beaches and Places

Unique is the word that best captures Singapore, a dynamic city rich in contrast and colour where you’ll find a harmonious blend of culture, cuisine, arts and architecture. A bridge between the

East and the West for centuries, Singapore, situated in the heart of fascinating Southeast Asia, continues to embrace tradition and modernity today.

Brimming with unbridled energy and full with exciting events, the city offers countless unique, memorable experiences waiting to be discovered.

A single day’s trails will take you from the past to the future, from a colourful ethnic enclave to an efficient business centre, from serene private grounds to sleek skyscrapers.

Singapore Tourism Guide

Chinatown, though somewhat overwhelmed by the growth of the Financial District, is a bustling and colourful area with shops, teahouses and restaurant, and also several temples such as the Fuk Tak Ch’i in Telok Ayer Street and the Temple of the Calm Sea.

Ancient crafts of calligraphy, papermaking and fortune-telling are practised, and traditional goods and foodstuffs can be bought.

The characteristic domestic architecture of Singapore – the shop-house with a moulded front, shuttered upper floor and an arcaded street front – is much in evidence.

Serangoon Road is the centre of Little India, the Indian quarter stretching from Rochar Canal to Lavender Street.

The Zhu Jiao Centre, at the southern end of Serangoon Road, is a particularly vibrant example of Little India. Other attraction in the area include the Sri Veeramakalimman Temple, the Mahatma
Gandhi Memorial Hall in Race Course Lane and Farrer Park.

Beaches in Singapore

Changi Beach: One of the oldest coastal parks in Singapore, this place brings back memories for Singaporeans who frequent this area in the sixties and seventies.

Pasir Ris Beach: The nearest Train station is Pasir Ris Station. From the station, you may take SBS 403 from Pasir Ris bus interchange and alight at the stop after the round about.

Sentosa Beach: Beside the sandy white beaches are many man-made attractions, such as pedal cars, aqua-bikes, and fun bugs, and beach activities like canoeing, windsurfing, and swimming.

Best time to visit Singapore

It is very interesting to know that Singapore does not have a particular time to visit.

Actually, the vary reason of a number of events and festivities observed in Singapore throughout the year, makes it busy with tourists all the time.

Also the best time to visit Singapore depends on the purpose of your visit. Usually the reasons may very from visitor to visitor.

Another place I think a toddler would enjoy, including the adults, would be the Singapore Zoo. We have a very beautiful zoo and there’s a Children’s corner as well with activities catered specially for children.

You could also get up close with an orang utan and take pictures with her.

However, climatically speaking, Singapore lies in the close vicinity of the equator and the large water bodies in and around Singapore create an environment of a tropical rain forest climate.

The climate also becomes a bit humid most of the time. Usually May and June are the hottest months and November and December are the wettest seasons in Singapore. So any time except these four months is the best time to visit Singapore.

Let us have a close look on various important time and occasions to visit Singapore.

What are your TOP 5 TRAVEL DESTINATIONS in “ASIA” to visit, and why?

Where are the top 5 places you would like to go and see in ASIA, and why? Have you been there before? Whats the best thing about them?

Answer
(in no particular order):
1) Vietnam- it is naturally beautiful and there is just tons to do: going to the beautiful beaches, siteseeing the tourist destinations, bargaining for shopping, shopping at plazas, drinking beer for cheap, cheap food, nice people, etc… very cheap there.. you can find food that is really expensive and food that is really cheap… for example, cheap pho is 15,000 dong which is less than $1. there is expensive pho (at PHO 24) that is 26,000 dong (which is $1.70 or so…)..

2) S. Korea- this place is really nice; it is very developed and business like but also there are tons of shopping and tourist sites. if you have time, you should go to jeju island.. there is beautiful scenery and tons of korean dramas are filmed there. A little expensive.. especially food.

3) Singapore- this place is super clean, but much to do. you can just go around the city and tons to do.

4) Japan- I have never been there, but is is like the New York City in Asia. So much to do. So many people. expensive here… i saw on the travel channel that a capsule hotel is $50… but it has so much to offer.

5) China- it is such a big country, but it is nice there.. i heard. I haven’t been there.

/what budget airlines fly out of saigon vietnam/agood hotel in saigon?

Answer
There are discount airlines serving Vietnam but none fly directly to the US, Japan or Europe. However, flying with in SE Asia is Tiger Air out of Singapore into Saigon and Air Asia out of Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi (maybe by now also Ho Chi Minh City). Also once in a while there are special deals to Bangkok via some of the big state owned international guys that have ties with the Vietnamese goverment.

Though the other other post is correct in that it seems the Vietnamese government trys to control the pricing of air travel. Probably in an attempt to maximize the profitability of the state owned Vietnam Airlines. However, thing seem to be changing quickly in Vietnam. Doug http://vietnam-now.com
